EVANSTON, Ill. - After posting nationally competitive times on the road, Northwestern's swimming and diving teams are set to take on Duke at home this weekend. The Wildcats will face the Blue Devils at the Norris Aquatics Center on Friday, Nov. 7, at 5 p.m. CT and Saturday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m. CT.
Two weekends ago, the Wildcats collected five event finishes that earned top-five standings in the Big Ten in their second and third meets of the season. Despite the top times, tough opponents left both the men's and women's programs to take their first losses of the season. Now, NU seeks its third win and to improve on promising results, against the Blue Devils.
Duke's women's team ranks No. 19 in the October CSCAA rankings, while the Northwestern women received four votes. Last time out for the visitor, Virginia Tech defeated both the men's and women's teams. In their first loss of the season, the Blue Devil women were defeated, 134-109, while the men also lost, 147-87, at the hands of the Hokies. Senior Kaelyn Gridley and freshman Charlie Kulp posted notable performances against Virginia Tech.
