BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Graduate goalkeeper Annabel Skubisz delivered a stellar performance, anchoring No. 1 Northwestern to a 1-0 victory over Indiana on Sunday. Tested frequently in a high-pressure match, Skubisz's eight saves, including four in the game's opening minutes, secured her seventh shutout in eight games this season.

The Houston native, reigning as the 2023 Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year, now boasts an incredible 0.13 goals-against average and a .971 save percentage, underscoring her dominant form. Her early saves kept the Wildcats in the game while Indiana came out aggressively, but Northwestern soon found its rhythm.
In the second quarter, with the score locked at 0-0, junior Greta Hinke broke the deadlock. Hinke launched a powerful backhand shot past Indiana goalie Sadie Canelli, marking the first goal of her Wildcat career and the game's only score.

Graduate midfielder Lauren Wadas kept the pressure on throughout the match, leading the team with four shots and playing a pivotal role in creating Northwestern's best scoring opportunities.
Defensively, Northwestern was once again impenetrable. After surviving Indiana's early barrage, the Wildcats shut down the Hoosiers' attack, allowing just four more shots for the remainder of the game. This disciplined defense extended Northwestern's shutout streak to six consecutive games, further establishing their reputation as a dominant defensive force this season.
Next, Northwestern heads to College Park to take on Maryland this Friday at 5 p.m. CT, as they aim to extend their unbeaten run.
