EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern volleyball placed four student-athletes on College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday. Kennedy Hill, Rylen Reid, Alexa Rousseau and Sophia Summers were all awarded the honor, which is based on both academic and athletic achievement.

Hill, a junior, completed an impressive junior campaign with a team-high 113 blocks, which set a single-season career high. The middle blocker hit .313 this year en route to 371 kills, which surpassed her 2023 total by more than 100. She finished 2024 with five double-digit kill games, new single-game career highs in every category, and the second double-double of her career.

Reid also put up the most productive season of her career this season in Evanston. After entering the season with 31 career kills, the junior posted 200 this year, pairing that with 105 digs and 20 service aces, also both single-season career highs. Reid led the Wildcat offense in a third of their games over the second half of the season, including a career-high 19 kills against Rutgers on Nov. 23.

In her final season in purple, Rousseau etched her name in the history books. Her 609 assists in 2024 gave her 3,924 in her Wildcat career, which ranks fifth in program history. Rousseau also ranks in the top ten in career hitting percentage (.277) after contributing a career-high 200 kills during her graduate season. She surpassed the 100-mark in career aces with 28 total in 2024.

Summers made her only season at Northwestern count, providing 95 blocks from the middle to rank second on the team behind Hill. After three seasons at Washington, Summers put up her best defensive numbers yet for the 'Cats, averaging a career-high 1.04 blocks per set in 91 sets of action. She capped off her career with her first ever double-digit kill performance in the season finale at Michigan.

In order to be eligible for All-District selection, a student-athlete must earn a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and compete in 90 percent of the team's competitions or start in 66 percent of them.
