Northwestern Drops 31-7 Decision To No. 2 Ohio State

CHICAGO (November 16, 2024) - Jack Lausch tallied his second rushing touchdown of the season as Northwestern (4-6, 2-5 B1G) fell by a final score of 31-7 to No. 2 Ohio State (9-1, 6-1 B1G) on Saturday afternoon at Wrigley Field.
Lausch led the way for the Northwestern offense on the afternoon, finishing 21-of-35 through the air for 201 yards. The Wildcat signal caller capped off a 13-play, 92-yard drive that spanned 5:30 with an eight-yard keeper to give the 'Cats a 7-0 lead early in the second quarter.
Bryce Kirtz proved to be Lausch's top target, hauling in seven receptions for 92 yards. A.J. Henning was also active in the passing game, coming away with five catches for 42 yards, a total highlighted by a 28-yard reception in the second quarter.ENDZONE ?? @jack_lausch pic.twitter.com/C1VhXhlGz1

Cam Porter paced the 'Cats on the ground, averaging just under four yards per carry as he finished his day with 37 yards.
Greyson Metz racked up eight tackles to lead Northwestern on the defensive side of the ball, while Robert Fitzgerald recorded his first career sack in the first quarter as part of a seven-tackle afternoon. Josh Fussell also recorded seven stops and added a pass breakup.

» Northwestern's 13-play, 92-yard touchdown drive in the first half was the longest touchdown drive by an Ohio State opponent this season.
» Both Metz and Fitzgerald tied their respective career high in tackles, while Fussell set a new career high in the category.
