EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 19 Northwestern men's soccer kicks off Big Ten play at Wisconsin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night on BTN.
Last time out, the 'Cats defeated UC Riverside 2-0. Justin Weiss notched a goal and an assist and Ugo Achara Jr. tallied his first goal of the 2023 campaign. Fritz Volmar tallied his first collegiate assist on Weiss's 87th minute goal against the Highlanders.
The Wildcats are unbeaten through seven games for the first time since 2012 and 6-0-1 for the first time since 2007.
Northwestern earned a No. 19 ranking in the September 12th United Soccer Coaches Poll, its first appearance in the poll since November 18, 2014 (No. 17).
Weiss leads the Big Ten in Shots (24), Shots on Goal (13), Goals (6), Assists (4), and Points (16). The Syosset, N.Y. native ranks second nationally in Points (16) and 9th nationally in Goals (6).
Rom Brown ranks second in the Big Ten in goals (4), behind only Weiss. The Hod Hasharon, Israel native leads the Big Ten with three game-winning goals.
