EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern plays its home opener after three road contests to start the season when it welcomes Kansas City to Martin Stadium for a Monday afternoon contest. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. CT and will be streamed on Big Ten Network+.

The Wildcats are coming off their first win of the season, a 1-0 victory at Loyola with the second half winner coming from Eric Smits on an assist from Bardia Kimiavi. The 'Cats are 1-1-1 after their three Chicago derbies to start the season, and have posted two shutouts in a row.

Kansas City is 0-2-1 to start the season after facing three ranked opponents in their first three games. The Roos earned a 2-2 draw at No. 15 Virginia Tech in the season openeer.

The Wildcats have seen steady performances on the backline from Julian Zighelboim, Deng Deng Kur, Jayson Cyrus and Alex Gordon, and holding midfielders Richie Bennett, Colin McCamy and Rom Brown have all been excellent defensively.

Goalkeeper Miha Miskovic earned the 17th shutout of his career on Friday, and he combined with Ethan Bandre to post a shutout at UIC last Monday.
