'Cat Prepare for Weekend Double Header

Northwestern men's and women's swimming and diving are set for back-to-back dual meets this weekend as they travel to South Bend, Ind. to take on Notre Dame, before traveling back home to the Norris Aquatics Center to host Big Ten opponent Iowa.
Northwestern women's swimming and diving enter the weekend with an 8-1 overall record, with two wins in the Big Ten. The men's team has one win in the conference against Michigan State, and a 4-3 record.
The Wildcats fought a tightly contested matchup against No. 12 Louisville last week, with the women's team taking their first loss of the season by just two points, 149-151. The men's team fell to the Cardinals 120.5-179.5.
The 'Cats earned 13 individual event wins against Louisville. Big Ten Freshman of the Week Hannah Brunzell tallied two wins in the 100 and 200 breast, earning her fourth NCAA 'B' cut of the season. First-year Frederico Burdisso posted two NCAA 'B' cuts on the night, with wins in the 100 and 200 fly.
Junior Calypso Sheridan, senior Nicole Aarts, and first-year Emma Lepisova combined for two 1-2-3 sweeps in both the 100 and 200 back. Sheridan tacked on another win in the 400 IM with a time of 4:19.85.
The Wildcats also swam in the NASA Invite over the weekend, hosted at the Norris Aquatics Center.
Northwestern women's swimming and diving claimed a decisive victory against the Hawkeyes last time out, taking the meet 178-122. The men's team will look to improve on last season's defeat at the Big Ten tri-dual, in which they also took on Wisconsin. The 'Cats have not competed in a dual against Notre Dame since 2017.
The competition in South Bend will begin at 5 p.m. CT on Friday, and the meet against Iowa will start in the Norris Aquatics Center on Saturday at 12 p.m.
