After a productive week where the 'Cats earned a draw and a win in their matches against Central Michigan and William & Mary respectively, head coach Michael Moynihan's side will face the Cincinnati Bearcats on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m and travel to Cambridge, Mass. to square off against Harvard on Sunday, Sept. 8 at noon. Junior midfielder Regan Steigleder continued her promising start to the campaign by contributing to NU's game-tying goal scored by Rowan Lapi in the 85th minute to secure a point against the Chippewas. First-year Aurea Martin notched what was the eventual game-winner against the Tribe off a screamer from 25 yards out that raced past the goalkeeper.

Head coach Shane Davis and his staff couldn't have asked for a better start to the season after the 'Cats swept the weekend in Oxford, Ohio, winning nine of 10 in their sets against USC Upstate, Virginia Tech and Miami (OH). Junior Nia Robinson dominated along the front line, earning tournament MVP honors and recording double digit kills in all three matches including a season high of 19 against the Redhawks. Senior Olivia Viscuso and first-year Temi Thomas-Ailara joined Robinson in being named to the All-Tournament team as well.
The Wildcats will look to keep their momentum high as they will return to Evanston this weekend with another three-game set as part of the NU Under Armour Challenge at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Northwestern will play the first of two matches on Friday, Sept. 6 against Austin Peay State, followed by a Texas two-step against Texas Tech (7:30 p.m.) and on Saturday, Sept. 7 against Stephen F. Austin at 4:00 p.m.

It was a thrilling opening weekend for the Wildcats out on the west coast, headlined by a shootout victory against tournament hosts No. 21 Stanford (4-3, 3-2) and a convincing victory over nearby California (3-0). Sophomore forward Bente Baekers started her campaign by dominating the 'Cats foes, registering three goals and six points in the three matches. Baekers also earned her first Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors. The 'Cats showed promise in both ends of the field against Cal, with junior goalkeeper Florien Marcussen registering two saves and NU outshooting the Golden Bears 18-4.
Northwestern will be back in Evanston this weekend to square off against two top-25 sides in No. 3 Duke on Friday, Sept. 5 at 3:30 p.m. and No. 13 Boston College on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 1:30 p.m.

The Wildcats showed balance in their opening two matches of the season against UCLA and Pittsburgh last week, outshooting the Bruins and registering a clean sheet against the Panthers on Sunday. NU's first goal of the season was an unconventional tally, as goalkeeper Miha Miskovic's goal kick found its way to Bardia Kimiavi just outside of the 18-yard box to where the sophomore midfielder gave the Wildcats the lead in the second minute and never looked back.
Northwestern will look to extend its record to 3-1 on the year with two matches at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium this weekend, hosting Lehigh on Friday, Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and Bowling Green on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 4:00 p.m.
