2018-19 Season Stats

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will finish out the 2018-19 regular season with a home match against SIUE on Senior Day Saturday afternoon. The contest is set for 2 p.m. CT and will be held in Ryan Fieldhouse (2333 Campus Dr.) on the Northwestern campus.

The dual will be the first in NU's new, 96,000-square foot indoor facility. Fans are recommended to park for free at the North Garage at 2311 Campus Drive. Tickets will be for sale in advance at NUsports.com/Tickets as well as in the Slotnick Family Atrium in the main entrance to the Fieldhouse.

Chicago's Big Ten Team is coming off a win over No. 24 Illinois last weekend in the conference finale. The Wildcats won seven of ten bouts en route to a 25-12 dismantling of the Illini.

No. 1 Sebastian Rivera and No. 3 Ryan Deakin each recorded ranked wins in their bouts, with Rivera dominating No. 13 Travis Piotrowski in a major decision victory and Deakin defeating No. 13 Eric Barone in the 157-pound bout.

Zack Chakonis also put in a huge performance, winning by fall at 197 with a second-period pin of Andre Lee. The result gave NU a six-point lead in a match that had previously been tied.

The Wildcats also got wins from Tyler Morland, Johnny Sebastian and Conan Jennings to complete the victory.

SIUE will enter the weekend on the back of a lopsided home win over Truman State. The Cougars hold an overall mark of 2-11 on the campaign.

Northwestern has come out on top in each of the past two meetings between the programs, including a 36-10 victory in Edwardsville a year ago. The 'Cats won eight bouts in that contest, all but one of which came from wrestlers still with the team.

Saturday will mark the final action for NU before the Big Ten Championships in Minneapolis on the weekend of March 9-10.
