EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern continues its challenging nonconference schedule Friday, hosting seventh-ranked Vanderbilt at Combe Tennis Center. The match gets underway and precedes a match between the Wildcats' and Commodores' men's teams.
Vanderbilt represents Northwestern's fifth ranked opponent in nine dual matches so far this season.
Northwestern is coming off a pair of home wins last Saturday, defeating 22nd-ranked Washington, 4-3, before rolling to a 7-0 win over Milwaukee. First-year Inci Ogut was the hero in the victory over Washington, earning a three-set win in the decisive match at No. 4 singles.
Vanderbilt opened its season with six straight victories before falling to Pepperdine in the semifinals of the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.
The Commodores defeated the Wildcats, 5-2, Feb. 3, 2017 in Nashville in the most recent meeting between the schools. Vanderbilt leads the all-time series with Northwestern, 7-2.
