EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern will travel to face SIUE this Sunday, February 18, in the final match of the 2017-18 regular season. The action is set for 2 p.m. CT in Edwardsville, Illinois.

PRIOR RETURNS
Chicago's Big Ten Team is coming off a successful weekend in which it recorded wins over No. 22 Purdue and Indiana, beating both Big Ten foes on the road. The triumph over the Boilermakers gave the Wildcats their third ranked win on the campaign, and Sunday's victory sealed a winning conference record against a slate that included seven teams appearing in the national polls.

Sebastian Rivera continued his dominance, adding another ranked win to his name with a 12-1 major decision of No. 17 Luke Welch. The newcomer followed it up by pinning Elijah Oliver of Indiana.

At 157 lbs., Shayne Oster had a massive impact in both contests. The sophomore pinned Griffin Parriott of Purdue in the second-to-last bout of the night on Friday, putting the 'Cats over the top and clinching the victory. His good form continued into Sunday, when he won 9-2 over the Hoosiers' Jake Danishek.

Zack Chakonis also took care of the opposition in both of his weekend appearances. With Northwestern down after two bouts in West Lafayette, he promptly pinned Christian Brunner to give his squad the spark they needed on the way to victory. His 6-1 decision on Sunday provided the clinching points over Indiana by putting the 'Cats up 24-12.

Conan Jennings reached 20 wins on the season by coming out on top in both matches. He took down No. 15 Shawn Streck of Purdue by 7-3 decision before adding another win in Sunday's final bout.

RANKING RUMBLINGS
After NU's two-win weekend, the Wildcats moved back up to No. 17 in the NWCA/USA TODAY Coaches Poll.

Chicago's Big Ten Team has also been slotted as high as 14th in the nation by the W.I.N. Magazine Tournament Power Index, while TrackWrestling deems the 'Cats the 16th-best team in the nation.

FINAL PREPARATIONS
Sunday will be the last tune-up for the 'Cats before postseason action gets underway. The Big Ten Championships will be held in East Lansing, Michigan, on March 3-4, while the NCAA Championships are set for March 15-17 in Cleveland, Ohio.
