Crosstown Showdown: Northwestern Hosts UIC Wednesday Night

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will be back in action Wednesday evening when UIC visits Evanston for a nonconference match. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT at Martin Stadium.
 
PROMOTIONS
The first 150 students at the match will receive the official 2017 Northwestern Soccer scarf. Wednesday's nonconference match is also Hispanic Heritage Night at Martin Stadium, which includes a Spanish-speaking public address announcer, mariachi band at halftime and in-game video board elements.
 
Last time out, Northwestern dropped a 2-0 decision to No. 1 Indiana on Sunday.
 
Emmett Gordon, Mac Mazzola, Jake Roberge and Ty Seager have each found the back of the net for the #B1GCats this season. Mazzola boasts a .800 shots on goal percentage with four of his five shot going on net, while Roberge has put three of his five attempts (.600) on target.
 
Chicago's Big Ten Team will also be looking for its second home win in four opportunities. Wednesday will be the last home contest before a stretch of three consecutive away tilts.
 
UIC has posted an overall record of 1-4-1 on the 2017 campaign and a 0-2-0 mark in Horizon League play. The Flames come into the match winless in their last three, most recently losing 2-0 to Wright State on Saturday.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Chicago's Big Ten Team holds an all-time record of 8-14-2 against UIC . The programs last six matches have been split with three wins apiece, including a 2-0 win by the Flames last season.
 
Northwestern's last win over UIC came in a 2-1 overtime-victory in 2015. Current senior Elo Ozumba scored in the 104th minute of the contest for his first career game-winning goal.
