EVANSTON, Ill. -- No. 40 Northwestern looks to remain undefeated in Big Ten play as it ventures out on the road for the first time during the conference season when it travels to Nebraska on Friday and Iowa on Sunday.
Friday's match gets underway at 3 p.m. while Sunday's begins at noon.
The Wildcats (7-8, 3-0 B1G) won a pair of conference matches at home last weekend, defeating then-No. 33 Maryland and Rutgers both by 5-2 scores.
In doubles competition, Maddie Lipp and Alex Chatt are the 10th-ranked duo in the nation while Lipp and Rheeya Doshi are No. 74 when paired together and the team of Brooke Rischbieth and Erin Larner are No. 78. In singles, Lipp is ranked No. 114.
Nebraska is off to a 16-2 start this season, including a 3-1 mark in Big Ten play. The Huskers split a pair of league matches last weekend, falling 4-3 at Minnesota before posting a 5-2 victory at Wisconsin. Nebraska's roster does not feature any singles players or doubles teams that are nationally ranked. Northwestern leads the all-time series between the schools, 8-2.
Iowa also is off to a solid start, bringing a 13-3 overall record and a 3-1 league mark into its home match against Illinois on Friday. The Hawkeyes won a pair of Big Ten road matchups last weekend, winning 6-1 at Wisconsin prior to securing a 4-2 win at Minnesota. Iowa is led by the doubles team of Zoe Douglas and Elise Van Heuvelen who are ranked No. 80. Northwestern owns a 40-2 all-time record against Iowa.
