Northwestern Completes Day One of SIU Invite

DAY ONE RESULTS
CARBONDALE, Ill. — After day one of the SIU Invitational, Northwestern leads host-Southern Illinois, 97-51, while trailing Missouri and Kentucky, 116-32 and 121-27, respectively.
Northwestern's A relay team in the 200 free relay of Almog Olshtein, Will Hofstadter, Keegan Bundy and Ryan Tate took third in the opening event with a time of 1:24.37. In the 400 medley relay, Northwestern's group of Jack Thorne, Hofstadter, Ryan Tate and Peter Lewczyk posted a fifth-place finish in 3:23.61.
Hofstadter then took fourth in the 100 back for the Wildcats, finishing in 57.18. Justin Hanson earned a fifth-place finish in the 200 fly (1:52.54) and an eighth-place finish in the 200 IM (1:55.26).
First year Liam Gately placed seventh in the 500 free, touching the wall in 4:36.07.
The meet will continue on Saturday at 9 a.m. CT with the 200 free. Results for the meet are available on Meet Mobile.
