LOUISVILLE, Ken. – Aubrey Roberts will toe the starting line against the best collegiate distance runners in the country on Saturday at the 2017 NCAA Championships, hosted by the University of Louisville. This year's event marks the sophomore's second consecutive appearance in the premier event of the cross country season.

The Eau Claire, Wisconsin, native earned her spot in the elite field with a Top-4 result at last weekend's NCAA Midwest Regional at Iowa State, finishing the 6K course in 20:16.7 to earn All-Region honors and a trip to Louisville.

"We're looking forward to the meet," said Wildcats head coach 'AHavahla Haynes. "If the forecast holds true it should make the race tactical, as people won't want to take it out with hard rain and wind. Aubrey is in a great spot and has had some fantastic performances over her last several races. We are looking for her to improve upon her 50th place performance from last year."

E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park, which hosted the NCAA Pre-Nationals event several weeks ago, will once again be the center of the cross country world on Saturday. Roberts finished that competition in 20:30.0, a Top-35 finish.

The event will begin with the women's 6K race at 9 a.m. ET, followed by the men's race at 10 a.m. Live coverage of the race will be available with a subscription to FloTrack, with results available on NCAA.com.

This weekend's field consists of 31 qualifying teams, comprised of 18 automatic qualifiers and 13 at-large selections. In addition to the teams, 38 runners qualified individually for the event. This is the third time that Sawyer Park has hosted the championship meet, following previous events in 2012 and 2015.

Inclement weather is expected to be a factor in Louisville, with race start times moved up as a result. If competition is suspended before 2,000 meters we will run the same day with a two-hour delay. If competition is suspended after 2,000 meters postponement would be until the next day.
