EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will host the Michigan Wolverines at Welsh-Ryan Arena in the third of four straight home conference dual meets on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
The Wildcats are coming off their first Big Ten victory against Michigan State and hope to keep the momentum going against the 13th-ranked Michigan.
The Wolverines will be finishing up a road trip in Illinois after wrestling the Illini on Friday and are 4-4 on the season. The team's three losses have been to No. 18 Minnesota, No. 3 Iowa, No. 6 Nebraska and No. 12 Illinois.
Northwestern features three ranked wrestlers in Sunday's matchup. Senior Jacob Berkowitz is ranked as high as No. 15 at 197 pounds and holds an 18-5 record. Redshirt-junior Mitch Sliga is ranked as high as No. 20 and boasts a 14-4 record, while sophomore heavyweight Conan Jennings, at 13-7, cracked the national rankings for the first time in his career, coming in at No. 24 in the coaches' rankings.
Michigan has won the last four meetings between the two teams. Northwestern's last win was on Feb. 21, 2010, a 20-16 victory.
