EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 14 Northwestern rolled to its first Big Ten win of the season in an 85-62 blowout over the visiting Nebraska Cornhuskers on Sunday afternoon at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

Four Wildcats scored in double figures for the 10th time this season with Nia Coffey and Christen Inman leading the way with 25 points apiece. Inman sank a career high five three-pointers.

Inman hit double figures for the 11th time this year, reaching the 10-point mark in the second quarter.

Nebraska scored the games first two points, but Chicago's Big Ten Team (12-2, 1-1) answered with 17 straight points to jump out to a double-digit lead they would never relinquish.

Northwestern led 45-23 at the half and shot 40 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes, including 46 percent from beyond the arc. The defense held the Cornhuskers to just 27 percent from the field.

"We challenged our team defensively after Penn State," head coach Joe McKeown said. "The girls responded really well and came ready to play today, making better decisions and executing plays."

The Wildcats grabbed a season high 57 rebounds in the win. Coffey led all players with 17 rebounds.

Maggie Lyon and Ashley Deary also reached double figures in points with 16 and 15, respectively.

Deary continues to lead Chicago's Big Ten team in steals, tallying eight in the game. She also dished out a game-high eight assists.

"I always tell Ashley that she's the best point guard in the game," McKeown said. "She really took it upon herself to be a leader for this team after Penn State."

Northwestern is back at it on Thursday, Jan. 7 with a home game against Purdue at 7 p.m.
