Wrestling Falls To No. 1 Iowa

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern wrestling team struggled Sunday afternoon, losing to top-ranked Iowa, 41-3, in front of 3,201 fans in Iowa City.
The 25th-ranked Wildcats fell to 6-8-1 overall, 1-3 in the Big Ten. Iowa remained unbeaten at 15-0 and improved to 5-0 in the Big Ten.
Senior Scott Schatzman (Chesterfield, Mo./Parkway Central) was the sole winner for the 'Cats. Schatzman, ranked fourth nationally at 141 pounds, scored an upset win by defeating top-ranked Doug Schwab, 3-2, in the meet's marquee match. With the win, Schatzman improved to 24-2 overall and 15-0 in dual meets.
The Wildcats return to action next Friday when they take on No. 23 Indiana at 7 p.m. at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
