EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern field hockey team dropped a 5-0 decision to sixth-ranked Penn State Friday afternoon at Lakeside Field.

Despite outshooting the Wildcats, 25-0, Penn State did not score until 9:50 remained in the first half, when Traci Anselmo converted a penalty stroke. Just more a minute and a half later, Meredith Shulzitski fired a loose ball past the outstretched arms of NU goalkeeper Jessica Yates (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) making the score 2-0.

Shulzitski recorded her second goal of the game with 1:47 left in the first, taking a pass from Kiley Kulina.

The Nittany Lion offense again clicked two more times in the second half, as Kulina scored twice on penalty corners with help from teammates Maegan Galie and Jill Martz.

Yates ended the day with 14 saves for Northwestern.
