Field hockey loses in OT to Delaware

MUNCIE, Ind. - Delaware's Rachel Barger scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner in the second overtime, as the Blue Hens defeated Northwestern in field hockey action Saturday afternoon, 3-2.
The game was played at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.
Delaware's Juli Byrd and Northwestern's Kristy Whitman each scored in the first half to make the score 1-1 at the break, before Wildcat junior Lindsay Wright scored with just under eight minutes remaining to give the 'Cats a 2-1 lead. The goal was Wright's fifth this season.
However, Barger drew Delaware even, scoring with only three seconds left in regulation. She then added to her heroics with another goal in the second minute of the second OT session.
NU will invade Philadelphia next weekend, playing three games in the City of Brotherly Love. On Thursday, the Wildcats will meet St. Joseph's at 4 p.m. ET.
