Megan Slamkowksi enters her third season as an assistant coach with the Northwestern University cross country & track program in 2025-26. Prior to assuming a full-time role in June of 2023, Slamkowksi spent the 2022-23 season as a volunteer assistant coach with the 'Cats.

"Megan's work for our program as a volunteer assistant proved that she has what it takes to be a rising star in the coaching profession," Northwestern head cross country said. "I am thrilled to promote her to a full-time position so she can continue to support our program in very meaningful ways. Her tireless work ethic and care for our student-athletes will continue to make an immense impact."

Slamkowski's impact was immediately felt upon her arrival in Evanston during a banner 2022-23 campaign that saw Northwestern qualify for the NCAA Championships as a team for the first time since 1985. Led by All-Big Ten honorees Rachel McCardell and Kalea Bartolotto, the 'Cats opened the postseason by taking fifth at the Big Ten Conference Championships, marking the program's top finish at the league meet in over 30 years.  Northwestern went on to punch its ticket to the national stage with its best NCAA Midwest Regional finish in 20 years, earning a runner-up finish at the event behind a four United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Associcaiton (USTFCCCA) All-Region selections.

A native of Fishers, Indiana, Slamkowksi was a four-year letterwinner at Purdue Univeristy. Slamkowski excelled in the long distance events, posting a 10,000m run time of 34:42.32 that still ranks sixth on the program's record board in the event.  She also made her mark in the classroom, earning a pair of Big Ten Distinguished Scholar nods, in addition to six Academic All-Big Ten selections between cross country and track.

A 2022 graduate of Purdue, Slamkowksi earned a dual degree in Kinesiology and Psychological Sciences during her time as a Boilermaker.
