Jason Kraman, LCSW, CMPC joined Northwestern Sport Psychology Services in May 2024 as an Athletics Therapist. Kraman is housed at Walter Athletics Center, provides mental health and mental performance services for Northwestern student-athletes, and works alongside an interdisciplinary healthcare team that includes physicians, athletic trainers, dietitians, and strength and conditioning coaches.
 
Kraman previously worked at the University of Kansas Athletic Department starting in January 2022 where he supported KU student-athletes in a similar interdisciplinary mental health and mental performance role. Prior to KU, he worked for many years in a variety of clinical mental health settings before ultimately transitioning into college athletics.
 
Kraman earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational studies from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 2014 and a Masters of Social Welfare degree (MSW) from UCLA in 2017. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Education in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Western States. Kraman is a licensed clinical social worker and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant through the Association of Applied Sport Psychology. His clinical interests include the treatment of anxiety, OCD, panic disorders, trauma, and general adjustment concerns. He also maintains a passion in addressing perfectionism within student-athletes to support both student-athlete well-being and their performance.
 
Kraman is thrilled to be a Wildcat and to have the opportunity to support the exceptional student-athletes at NU.
