Courey joined Northwestern in January 2022. She is responsible for managing the health care of the softball team, as well as the rehab coordinator for Olympic Sports.

Courey is a graduate of Mercyhurst University where she earned a BS in Athletic Training and a MS in Exercise Science. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Gannon University. Courey came to Northwestern from Strength Training, Inc. Physical Therapy in Arizona. Prior to working as a full-time physical therapist, she worked as an athletic trainer at Mercyhurst University and Bucknell University coordinating care for women's ice hockey and women's basketball, respectively.

Courey's professional interests include working with the upper extremity athlete and return to sport phase of rehab. Courey holds certifications in Graston 1 technique, Barbell Method Rehab Certification, and is a certified myofascial trigger point therapist - dry needling.

Courey is originally from Pennsylvania and resides in the north suburbs of Chicago with her wife, dog, and two cats. She enjoys attending sporting events, checking out a new brewery, and relaxing with her friends and family.
