Bailey Gianacakos (nee Jones) joined Northwestern Athletics as a part-time Sports Dietitian for the wrestling program in October 2021. Her mission is to provide individualized, evidenced-based nutrition recommendations to help fuel athletic and academic success. Bailey's primary responsibilities include individual nutrition counseling, team education, and educating on safe supplement use. Prior to working with the 'Cats, Bailey spent two years as Assistant Director of Performance Nutrition at Indiana University. She also served as the team sports dietitian for the Chicago Cubs Class A Affiliate in South Bend, Ind. during the 2019 season.
Bailey is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics. In 2019, she earned a master's degree in Exercise Science with a focus in Sports Nutrition. In addition to her role at Northwestern, Bailey is also the owner of Eat Elite, LLC where she provides sports nutrition counseling and education to high school, collegiate, and adult athletes. Over the last three years, she has collaborated with organizations such as The Illinois Human Performance Project, Beat The Streets Chicago, Blue Ridge Running Camp, and IAHPERD.
In her free time, Bailey enjoys running outdoors, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband reside in Elmhurst, Ill.
