Registration Advising
All student-athletes will be required to schedule a registration advising meeting with their athletic academic advisor during the designated registration advising period for each quarter. Student-athletes will not be permitted to register for the upcoming academic quarter until they have met with their athletic academic advisor. If the student-athlete has declared a major and/or minor, they may be able to register for up to two major/minor courses during Pre-Registration: http://www.registrar.northwestern.edu/registration/Pre-Registration.html.
Students may prepare for their Registration Advising meeting with their athletic academic advisor by completing the following steps:
- Schedule a meeting with the appropriate college/major advisor(s).
- Review the upcoming quarter’s class schedule in CAESAR and start to plan out which courses to enroll in.
- Make note of any major courses that may conflict with practice. It is important that student-athletes discuss potential course conflicts with their coaches prior to their registration advising meeting with their athletic academic advisor.
- Check for any registration holds listed in CAESAR. An “Athletic Registration Hold” will always appear on a student-athlete’s accounts outside of the enrollment period. Any other holds can delay the registration process; therefore, it’s important they are addressed as soon as possible.
For any questions regarding registration advising, please call your assigned athletic academic advisor.
