Albert L. Schwartz ( Swimming, 1928-30)
Beginning his Northwestern career in 1928, Schwartz was ranked as the nation's outstanding freestyle swimmer throughout his years at NU. He won three freestyle titles at the 1930 indoor meet, making him the first swimmer to score a triple victory at the NCAA championships.
Schwartz won the bronze medal in the men's 100-meter freestyle at the 1932 Olympics, and at one time he held all national records from 550 to 220 yards. Schwartz later attended law school at the University of Chicago, and he practiced law in California.
