Sidney G. Richardson (Golf, 1937-39, Golf Coach, 1945-74)
In 1937, Richardson became the first Northwestern golfer to win the Big Ten individual championship and successfully defend his individual title the following year. He helped lead the Wildcats to the Big Ten title in 1937, and they won it again in his senior season, 1939, when Richardson came up with an impressive score of 298 at the Big Ten championship.
He returned from military service in 1945 to assume the duty as head golf coach for 30 years.
