Lisa Ishikawa Sliwa (Softball, 1984-87)

A four-year letterwinner from 1984-87, Ishikawa remains among the most dominant pitchers in Wildcat history. During her career, she led NU to three College World Series as she shattered records and earned a number of conference and national awards.

At the time of induction, Ishikawa was Northwestern's all-time leader in wins (97), innings pitched (914), strikeouts (1,200) and earned run average (0.47). She also ranked third in NCAA history in strikeouts (at time of induction) and threw 14 career no-hitters during her Northwestern career. Ishikawa was an All-Big Ten selection all four years, Big Ten Freshman of the Year, a two-time Big Ten Most Valuable Player and Big Ten Female Athlete of the Year.

In addition to earning NU's Women's Athlete of the Year in 1984, she also was named Northwestern's Female Athlete of the Decade (1981-91).

Ishikawa also was recognized nationally as the 1985 Sportswoman of the Year by the American Softball Association and the 1985 Southland Olympia Award, which honors the nation's top softball amateur athlete. That same year she pitched for the victorious United States team at the Women's World Softball Championship in Auckland, New Zealand.
