In addition to leading the nation in scoring in 1985 (30.5 points per game), Browne was selected to several All-American teams (Kodak All-American, Street & Smith's All-American, and Women's Sports Federation All-American).
Browne set an NCAA record by scoring 30 or more points in six straight games. She was a two-time Big Ten Player of the Year, a three-time all-conference selection, and a two-time Wade Trophy and one-time Naismith Trophy (national) Player of the Year finalist. She completed her career with 2,307 points.
Browne was named Northwestern women's basketball player of the decade in 1992 when the University and Big Ten Conference celebrated the 10th anniversary of women's intercollegiate athletics.
