WASHINGTON, DC — Northwestern senior attacker Madison Taylor has been named a 2026 Tewaaraton Award Nominee, the Tewaaraton Foundation announced on Thursday afternoon.
Taylor is one of 25 players in contention for the most coveted individual award in collegiate lacrosse. This marks her third consecutive season as a nominee for the honor. The Wildcats have placed at least one player in the Tewaaraton's top 25 list since the 2018 season.
After breaking the NCAA Division I single-season scoring record with 109 goals last season, Taylor has tallied 74 goals, 26 assists, 12 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers and 37 draw controls in 2026.
She leads all active DI players in career goals (319) and points (444). The attacker is 39 points away from tying Izzy Scane's program career points record of 483. She is 54 points behind Kylie Ohlmiller's all-time NCAA record of 498 points.
A two-time Tewaaraton Award finalist, Taylor is the only player in Big Ten history to post at least 400 career points and 200 career draw controls. She is the first Wildcat to hit the 100-point mark in three separate seasons since Izzy Scane did so in 2021, 2023 and 2024.
The first-ever WLL College Draft selection, Taylor has helped guide Northwestern to three consecutive national championship appearances.
Five women's finalists for the Tewaaraton Award will be announced in early May. The award's winner will be announced live at the Tewaaraton Ceremony on May 28 in Washington, D.C.
