Sophomore finished with unblemished record across pool action and direct elimination

GRANVILLE, Ohio (February 23, 2026) – Daphne Chan Nok Sze won the foil title to lead an outstanding showing for No. 6 Northwestern fencing during Sunday's individual section of the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference (CCFC) Championships in Granville, Ohio.

In total, the Wildcats registered 12 podium finishes, claiming half of the medals that were up for grabs at the event.

Chan Nok Sze finished with a spotless record inside Denison University's Mitchell Athletic Center, sweeping all 13 of her bouts across pool action and direct elimination.  Following back-to-back 5-0 showings in two rounds of pool bouts, Chan Nok Sze kicked off the tableau with a pair of 15-5 triumphs to book her spot in the event final.  The Hong Kong native closed out her day with a narrow 15-14 victory to secure the conference crown.

Spurred on by Chan Nok Sze's showing, Northwestern claimed five of the eight podium spots in the foil.  Juliana Hung earned a runner-up finish, while Allison Lee earned a share of third.  Brianna Ho and Bridgette Ouyang took sixth and eighth, respectively.

A pair of first-years dazzled for the 'Cats in the sabre.  After winning nine of her 11 pool bouts, Sophia Schiminovich notched two wins in the tableau en route to a runner-up finish.  Elaine Lu suffered only one defeat in pool action before adding a win in direct elimination to earn a share of third place.  Nisha Hild (5th) and Megumi Oishi (7th) joined the pair on the podium, with Oishi earning a fourth consecutive top-eight finish at the league meet.

Karen Wang and Natasha Lee paced Northwestern in the epee, both picking up wins in the tableau on the way to tying for third.  Like Oishi, Wang collected a fourth-straight CCFC podium finish, while Lee piled up eight pool bout wins in her postseason debut.  Anna Damratoski placed sixth overall, the top CCFC podium finish of her collegiate career.
