No. 6 Northwestern Knocks Off Three Ranked Foes, Piles Up 11 Wins At Schiller Duals

‘Cats finish combined 32-4 across all weapons during two-day event at Ryan Fieldhouse
EVANSTON, Ill. (February 2, 2026) – No. 6 Northwestern fencing finished with an impressive 11-1 overall record, defeating a trio of ranked foes, as it returned to the friendly confines of Ryan Fieldhouse over the weekend for the Schiller Duals.
Across the two-day event, Northwestern finished a combined 32-4 across all three weapons, while going a perfect 5-0 against Central Collegiate Fencing Conference (CCFC) foes in attendance.

The 'Cats kicked off Saturday's slate in style, sweeping all three weapons en route to a 19-8 triumph over No. 14 Temple. Northwestern went on to defeat Wayne State by an identical scoreline.
Following a 17-10 setback to No. 2 Notre Dame, the Wildcats closed out Saturday with four straight wins. The event hosts brushed aside Lawrence, 24-3, and Incarnate Word, 20-7, before a 27-0 shutout of Detroit Mercy. Northwestern closed out the opening day of competition with a 25-2 win over Wheaton.
The 'Cats carried their strong finish from Saturday over to Sunday's closing day of action, going a perfect 5-0. After dispatching UC San Diego, 17-10, Northwestern received dominant showings from its foil and sabre squads en route to a 17-10 win over CCFC rival No. 7 Ohio State. The Wildcats backed up that performance with another ranked win, as they eased past No. 11 Stanford, 16-11.
Following the celebration of its senior class in an emotional ceremony, Northwestern wrapped up the event with victories over FDU, 23-4, and Cleveland State, 24-3.
Northwestern's sabre squad, which finished 11-1, was led by a pair of first-years. Elaine Lu racked up a team-high 13 victories, a mark which led all Wildcats on the weekend, while Sophia Schiminovich posted a 12-2 mark. Competing in her final Schiller Duals, Megumi Oishi finished 11-3 to move within 11 wins of 200 for her career.
The senior duo of Juliana Hung and Allison Lee paced the attack for the Wildcats' foil team, which matched the sabreists with an 11-1 record. Hung and Lee both totaled 10 wins over the weekend, with Hung upping her win total on the year to 31, a mark that leads all Northwestern foilists.
Also competing in her final home meet, Anna Damratoski closed the weekend with a season-high nine wins, leading the epee team. First-year Angelica Xiong also impressed, matching her season-best win total with eight victories.
