EVANSTON, Ill. - Set to begin her 28th season at the helm, Northwestern head women's tennis coach Claire Pollard unveiled the Wildcats' 2026 winter and spring dual schedule on Tuesday afternoon. The 'Cats will welcome back the ITA National Team Indoor Championships for the second straight year in addition to a full slate of non-conference and Big Ten opponents.
Northwestern's season begins with a final tune-up next weekend at the Wildcat Duals, when the 'Cats are set to host NIU and DePaul for singles and doubles play at Combe Tennis Center. Following that event, which will not have team scores, Northwestern faces a trio of opponents on the east coast during its first road trip of dual season. The 'Cats will visit VCU (Jan. 16) and Richmond (Jan. 18) and will also take on Temple (Jan. 17) in a neutral-site matchup.
The 'Cats' second road trip of the season will take them to Tennessee, where they are set to face off with Middle Tennessee (Jan. 31) and Vanderbilt (Feb. 1).
In addition to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships (Feb. 6-10), Northwestern will also host a trio of local foes at Combe Tennis Center this winter. UIC will visit for the home opener on January 25, followed by Chicago State (Feb. 15) and DePaul (Feb. 22). Fordham will also visit Evanston on February 15, making up the first half of that day's doubleheader.
In Big Ten play, the 'Cats will begin with a series of road contests, opening conference play at Iowa (March 6), Nebraska (March 8) and Illinois (March 14). Northwestern's first conference action at home will take place on March 21 and 22, as the 'Cats host Indiana and Purdue.
Following a trip to the West Coast to face Washington (March 27) and Oregon (March 29), Northwestern returns to Evanston for an extended homestand to open the month of April. Michigan State (April 4), Michigan (April 5), USC (April 10) and UCLA (April 12) are all set to visit the 'Cats during that stretch.
After a final road trip to Maryland (April 17) and Rutgers (April 19), Northwestern will look to the 2026 Big Ten Championships in Columbus, Ohio (April 23-26) and then the NCAA Championships, which will begin with the First and Second Rounds at campus sites on May 2-3.
Northwestern's full schedule, including regular-season match times, is available here.
