
Four ‘Cats Named to Big Ten Swimmers and Divers to Watch List

EVANSTON, Ill. – Isabella Chen, Kyle Ly, Ekaterina Nikonova, and Stuart Seymour have been named to the Big Ten Swimmers and Divers to Watch List, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Isabella Chen earns Watch List recognition for the second straight season after a standout rookie campaign in 2024-25. Chen qualified for the 2025 NCAA Championships on platform as a first-year, and also appeared in the finals of the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships in 1M and 3M.
Kyle Ly also earned an NCAA Championships berth on platform in his first season in Evanston, scoring 306.80 to finish in 26th place. Earlier in the season, the Cerritos, Calif. native set the school record in 3M, scoring 384.30 against Cincinnati on Oct. 18, 2024.
Ekaterina Nikonova joined the Wildcats as a transfer from Florida, redshirting the 2024-25 season. As a Gator, Nikonova was a six-time All-American, two-time CSCAA Scholar All-American, and two-time All-SEC honoree.
Stuart Seymour looks to build on an outstanding sophomore season, breaking school records in the 50 freestyle (19.22) and 100 back (45.07) individually, and as part of the 400 medley relay and 400 free relay. Seymour qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 50 free, 100 back, and 100 free, placing 17th in the 100 back.
Northwestern swimming and diving will open up its 2025-26 season against Southern Illinois and Miami (OH) on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. CT inside Norris Aquatics Center.
