EUGENE, Ore. – Northwestern women's soccer stretched its unbeaten streak to seven games with a scoreless draw at Oregon on Sunday afternoon.
The Wildcats (4-1-5, 0-0-3 Big Ten) are unbeaten through three Big Ten games for the first time since 2022. Northwestern's seven-game unbeaten streak is the sixth-longest unbeaten streak in program history and longest since Aug. 24–Sept. 17, 2023.
Both sides created a few chances in the first half, but neither team was able to find the back of the net. The scoreless first half marks NU's fifth consecutive game shutting out its opponent through the first 45 minutes of action.
Northwestern's most threatening chance of the first half came in the 35th minute when sophomore forward Kennedy Roesch tested UO goalkeeper Caeley Goldstein from distance, but Goldstein was up to the task.
The 'Cats applied pressure out of the halftime break, outshooting Oregon 9-5 in the second half, holding the Ducks (2-6-2, 0-2-1 Big Ten) without a shot on goal in the final 45 minutes.
NU's best chance of the day came in the 87th minute. Roesch lobbed a cross into the Oregon 18-yard box and junior midfielder Sarah O'Donnell beat her defender to the ball, but was unable to place her shot on target.
First-year goalkeeper Nyamma Nelson collected her fifth clean sheet, third-most by a first-year goalkeeper in program history.
