KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Northwestern men's basketball as a recipient of the 2025 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award Thursday.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2024-25 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Wildcats are one of seven Big Ten programs to receive the honor.

In addition to the team award, Blake Smith, Brooks Barnhizer, Gus Hurlburt, Justin Mullins, Keenan Fitzmorris, Luke Hunger and Nick Martinelli were named to the NABC Honors Court. The NABC Honors Court includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2024-25 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Seven representatives on the Honors Court is the highest total for Northwestern since 2010. At least one Wildcat has been included in the Honors Court in each of the last four seasons.
