Amonte Hiller and Taylor Capture Annual Big Ten Honors

ROSEMONT, Ill. – After adding another team trophy to its impressive collection, Northwestern lacrosse is collecting some individual hardware from the Big Ten this week.

Fresh of winning its third-straight Big Ten Tournament title, which followed a third-straight regular season crown, junior attacker Madison Taylor and head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller were tabbed the league's Attacker of the Year and Coach of the Year on Tuesday.

Taylor, a unanimous First Team All-Big Ten selection last week, was once again a unanimous choice for Attacker of the Year after leading the Big Ten with 89 goals (second in the NCAA). Her 125 total points, 6.94 points per game and 4.94 goals per game lead the nation.

In 18 games this season, Taylor recorded 16 hat tricks and scored six or more goals eight times. Her 89 goals are 10 shy of Izzy Scane's program and conference record, set in 2023, and are 14 behind Abby Hormes' (High Point) 2022 NCAA record of 103. Taylor earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week six times this year, including each of the final three weeks of the regular season. This marks the third-straight year that a Northwestern player has earned Big Ten Attacker of the Year, with Scane winning the past two. It is also the fifth time in the past six seasons a Wildcat has earned this award.

Amonte Hiller's Big Ten Coach of the Year award is her third straight and fifth in the past six seasons for the Wildcats' decorated coach. After graduating three players who accounted 175 of the team's 354 goals (49.4 percent) a year ago, Amonte Hiller helped a new-look roster gel to the tune of a 16-2 record and third-straight Big Ten regular season and tournament titles. The 'Cats have nine wins against nationally-ranked teams, including five against teams ranked in the top 10, and are a perfect 8-0 in road/neutral site games.

Since the 2023 season, Amonte Hiller's Wildcats are 26-1 when facing Big Ten opponents. In that stretch, NU is 55-6 (.902 winning percentage) and won the 2023 NCAA title while finishing runner-up in 2024. In 24 seasons, Amonte Hiller has guided the Wildcats to a 386-93 record (.803 winning percentage) and eight national championships.

The Wildcats will learn their opponent for the 2025 NCAA Tournament during the tournament Selection Show on May 4, where the bracket will be revealed live on ESPNU at 8 p.m. CT.
