‘Cats spring slate to feature five contests
EVANSTON, Ill. (March 10, 2025) – Northwestern University head men's soccer coach Russell Payne announced the Wildcats' 2025 spring schedule on Monday. Payne's team will see action in five contests across April and May, with three matchups slated to take place in Evanston.
Northwestern raises the curtain on its spring season by playing host to the Chicago Cup. The 'Cats will entertain UIC on April 5 before closing out the event against either DePaul or Loyola Chicago on April 12. Both games will be inside Ryan Fieldhouse.
In-state foe Northern Illinois makes its way east to meet Northwestern on April 19 in a clash set to be played at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium.
The 'Cats are slated to close out their spring schedule with a pair of road tests, visiting Notre Dame on April 26 ahead of a trip south to Peoria, Ill. on May 3 to take on Peoria City of USL League 2.
Northwestern finished the 2024 regular season at 9-7-1 overall to secure consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 2013-14. Payne welcomes back multiple contributors from that squad, a group led by two-time All-Big Ten Conference honoree Nigel Prince.
