Six 2024 I-MAP Winners Announced by Kabiller NU for Life Program

EVANSTON, Ill. – On Wednesday, at the Sophomore Industry Exploration event, six outstanding Northwestern sophomore student-athletes were named 2024 recipients of the Immersion, Mentorship and Actualization Program (I-MAP) Award.
The 2024 I-MAP Award winners are Greta Hinke (Field Hockey), Albert Kunickis (Football), Brooke Miller (Women's Soccer), Mia Mraz (Cross Country), Henri Richter (Men's Soccer), and Blake Smith (Men's Basketball). This year's I-MAP class includes six sophomore student-athletes from six different teams.
"Assisting our student-athletes with these life-changing experiences is both a great privilege and responsibility," said Marcus Geralds, Assistant Director for Career Enhancement & Employer Relations of the David G. Kabiller NU for Life Program. "It presents a unique opportunity for professional development that we cherish."
Sponsored by the David G. Kabiller NU for Life program, I-MAP is a week-long industry immersion program, designed to help student-athletes work with mentors and make industry contacts. Every student-athlete will be matched with a mentor in their chosen industry, providing them with invaluable firsthand experience and the opportunity to grow their personal and professional connections throughout the immersion program. This experience is open to locations worldwide, offers flexible scheduling, and is facilitated through the David G. Kabiller NU for Life program, covering all expenses.

Greta Hinke (Field Hockey | Mequon, Wisconsin): Hinke is interested in the Medical and Public Health fields. She is passionate about becoming a pediatrician and plans on attending medical school upon graduation.
Albert Kunickis (Football | Lemont, Illinois): Kunickis is interested in Biomedical Engineering, specifically in the field of athletic prosthetics. He hopes that in this experience he can connect with an organization that specializes in designing prosthetics specifically tailored for empowering and uplifting athletes.
Brooke Miller (Women's Soccer | Naperville, Illinois): Miller is interested in Journalism and TV Production. She strives to immerse herself in the entertainment/media industry and cultivate professional connections that will assist her on her professional development journey.
Mia Mraz (Cross Country | Broomfield, Colorado): Mraz is interested in Civil Rights Law. She is passionate about law and plans on attending law school. She hopes that during this experience she can meet a variety of professionals within the specific branches of law and foster connections that she can maintain throughout her career.
Henri Richter (Men's Soccer | Newton, Massachusetts): Richter is interested in Pre-Law and professional sports agencies. He plans on attending law school plan and hopes to gain hands-on experience shadowing a legal counsel or agent at a leading sports firm.
Blake Smith (Men's Basketball | Blue Bell, Pennsylvania): Smith is interested in Broadcast Journalism. He is hoping to grow from this experience and visit a thriving sports media organization to be immersed in a broadcast analyst role.
I-MAP was designed in 2017 with the generous support of Kellogg School of Management alumnus, Michael Price, to foster connections between current student-athletes, Northwestern alumni, and supporters of Northwestern Athletics around the world through the help of the David G. Kabiller NU for Life Program. These resources are accessible to student-athletes upon their arrival on campus and accompany them throughout their career journeys. As it enters its seventh year, the I-MAP initiative remains dedicated to providing transformative experiences for NU student-athletes, aiding in their preparation for lifelong careers.
