Event Connects NU Alumni and Student-Athletes During Night of Networking and Inspiration

EVANSTON, Ill. – On November 17, more than 40 senior executive Northwestern alumni came together with 100+ student-athletes – all in their junior year – for its 12th annual Wildcat Professional Excellence Program (WPEP), a Kabiller NU for Life signature event designed to foster meaningful connections, professional growth, and career inspiration.

The program unfolded in three impactful segments:

Speed Networking
The evening began with a structured speed networking session where each student-athlete was paired with three senior executives based on their career interests. The 3:1 ratio allowed for personalized and targeted interactions throughout three 25-minute rounds. This unique format provided student-athletes with tailored advice, industry insights, and the invaluable opportunity to begin building long-lasting professional relationships.

"The speed networking segment was a dynamic and inspiring experience, offering meaningful connections and invaluable insights from passionate professionals," said junior Ramira Ambrose, a member of the women's soccer team. "It was great to hear about individuals' unique journey to excellence."

Networking Reception
The second segment, a vibrant networking reception hosted in Ryan Fieldhouse, allowed participants to deepen initial connections and engage with professionals they had not yet met. Set against a lively backdrop of entertainment, including live illusions and interactive activities, this portion of the evening balanced fun with purposeful relationship-building.

Dinner, Fireside Chat, and Kabiller Awards Presentation
The night concluded with a celebratory dinner featuring a fireside chat with David Kabiller, Founder of Kabiller NU for Life, alongside two '14 Kabiller class award winners, Jen Yamin and Austin Carr. This inspirational discussion highlighted the power of mentorship, resilience, and the unique strengths that student-athletes bring to the professional world. The evening wrapped up with the presentation of the 12th class of Kabiller Award winners, recognizing exceptional student-athletes who exemplify excellence both on and off the field.

The Wildcat Professional Excellence Program continues to serve as a cornerstone of Kabiller NU for Life's commitment to preparing student-athletes for life after sports. By leveraging the university's robust alumni network, the program not only equips student-athletes with critical career tools but also fosters a sense of community and shared purpose.
