’Kits, ’Cats and Kids Block Party Returns on Thursday, September 7

EVANSTON, Ill. – Evanston's annual 'Kits, 'Cats and Kids Block Party will be held on Thursday, September 7th, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Evanston Township High School's (ETHS) Lazier Field (2285 Church Street). There will be free snacks available for attendees, as well as food trucks with local favorites available for purchase, including La Cocinita, Soul & Smoke, Mustard's Last Stand, Rainbow Cone, and Cookies with Flavor. A variety of games, activities, arts and crafts, and inflatables will be provided at no cost! Marcus Brown from D.I.M.E (Dance Is My Everything) will be this year's DJ and MC. This event will feature performances by the Northwestern University and Evanston Township High School Marching Bands as well as guest speakers from the City of Evanston, D65, ETHS, and Northwestern University. Following the Thursday event, attendees are invited to participate in ETHS and NU Football. The ETHS Wildkits will host William Fremd High School on Friday, September 8th and the Northwestern Wildcats will host UTEP on Saturday, September 9th. Games will take place at Lazier Field and Ryan Field respectively. Admission to the event is free and parking will be available at ETHS. The Block Party is sponsored by City of Evanston, Northwestern's Office of Neighborhood and Community Relations, Northwestern's Department of Athletics and Recreation, ETHS, District 65, Northwestern/ETHS Partnership Office and the Northwestern/D65 Partnership Office.
