‘Cats turn attention towards November NAC
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (November 7, 2023) – No. 5 Northwestern fencing raised the curtain on its dual slate this past weekend, trekking to Colorado Springs, Colo. for the Western Invitational.
The Wildcats got off to a fast start on Saturday inside the Cadet Gymnasium, racking up four victories. Led by a perfect 9-0 mark from its foil squad, Northwestern coasted to a 22-5 win over Incarnate Word to begin the event. The sabre team posted a perfect mark of its own in a 21-6 triumph against No. 15 Air Force before again pacing the attack against UC San Diego with a 7-2 ledger as part of a 16-11 victory.
After dropping a razor-thin 14-13 decision to No. 4 Harvard, Northwestern bounced back with a 21-6 rout of North Carolina in a win that saw all three weapons finish 7-2.
The 'Cats added an additional victory on Sunday, cruising to a 19-8 win over Brandeis.

Northwestern will send a contingent down to Fort Worth, Texas for USA Fencing's November North American Cup (NAC) event, November 10-13.
