EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern swimmer Ryan King has been selected as one of 200 student-athletes to participate in the 2022 Career in Sports Forum at the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis from June 2-5.

"I am truly honored to have been selected for the NCAA Career in Sports forum. I look forward to the weekend of learning more about a career in my dream industry. I can't wait to make connections with people who have big dreams like me from across the country," said King.

King will have the privilege of participating in the three-day NCAA-sponsored forum which helps student-athletes chart their career paths, network with and learn from current athletics professionals and to learn about and explore potential careers in sports, particularly college athletics. Through panels, engaging breakout discussions, keynote presentations and facilitated dialogues, program participants like King will walk away from the experience with a thorough understanding of athletics as a career path and where to fit into the industry's landscape.

CSF is an annual educational program that brings together student-athletes nationwide and provides attendees the ability to network with peers and decision-makers at the campus, conference and national level of college athletics. Forum content will help educate participants on how personal strengths intersect with career opportunities, provide participants with tangible experiences that will push them forward in their aspiration for a career in sports, explore professional and career development strategies to help the transition to a career in the sports industry, and help them learn about the role of an intercollegiate coach, athletics administrator and national governing body staff member.

Northwestern's Ahmad Boyd, Assistant Director, Career Enhancement & Employer Relations, David G. Kabiller NU for Life Program, will serve as one of the program facilitators. Notable speakers will cover topics to prepare attendees for success navigating their futures, including self-awareness and its role in professional development; practical approaches to the sports job search; personal branding; developing a career plan, and managing yourself as a professional in the sports industry.
