In their final midweek road matchup of the season, Northwestern took advantage of a massive game from Tommy D'Alise who socked a pair of home runs and ripped an RBI single to power the Wildcats. The senior finished with five RBIs in the win.
Stephen Hrustich also clubbed his team-leading tenth home run of the season to extend Northwestern's lead in the sixth inning. Anthony Calarco's three-run homer in the eigthh inning added to his team-leading 43 RBIs on the 2022 season.
David Utagawa got the start for the Wildcats, striking out two over three innings of work. Kellen Pate, Reed Smith and Coby Moe combined for three innings of scoreless relief work to help Northwestern secure the win.
The win improves Northwestern's non-conference record to 14-12 in 2022. The Wildcats will return to action with their final Big Ten homestand of the season, as Northwestern welcomes Purdue to Rocky & Berenice Miller Park, beginning with a Friday afternoon matchup at 3:30pm.
