Northwestern Battles Utah Valley to 0-0 Draw

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern and Utah Valley scrapped for a 0-0 draw on Thursday night at Martin Stadium in a physical affair.
The match featured seven yellow cards and just three shots on goal, although the Wildcats did generate eight corner kick opportunities. Northwestern moved to 2-1-2 on the season while Utah Valley moved to 2-0-2.
The 'Cats remain unbeaten in their last four games and have posted a shutout in three of their last four. Graudate goalkeeper Ethan Bandre earned the shutout and made two saves in 110 minutes.
Deng Deng Kur, Ibrahaiem Obeid and Alex Gordon played all 110 minutes on the backline in the clean sheet, while Julian Zighelboim played 45 minutes and Quinn Dudek added 65 minutes off the bench at center back.
Northwestern's best chance came in overtime on a shot from Vicente Castro in the box, but the junior's attempt of the breakaway went wide right.
The Wildcats are back in action on Sunday, when they hit the road to take on Xavier. Kickoff against the Musketeers is set for 5 p.m. CT from Cincinnati and will be streamed on Flo Sports.
