EVANSTON, Ill. – Evanston's annual 'Kits, 'Cats and Kids Block Party will be held on Thursday, September 9, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Evanston Township High School (ETHS).  This year marks the 10-year anniversary of the event, and the City is excited to continue the wonderful Evanston spirit that the Block Party has provided for the past decade at a new location!

Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy delicious food from several Evanston vendors and participate in a variety of lawn games, engaging activities, arts and crafts, face painting, and much more! Guests will also have the chance to listen to great tracks from an outstanding DJ and hear performances by the Northwestern University and Evanston Township High School Marching Bands. Further, a few guest speakers will share remarks about what is in store for the new 2021-22 academic year.

Following the Thursday event, attendees are invited to watch two terrific football games at ETHS and Northwestern that weekend. The Wildkits will host Palatine on Friday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m. and the Wildcats will host Indiana State on Saturday, September 11 at 11 a.m. Games will take place at Lazier Field and Ryan Field respectively. Evanston Day will be held in conjunction with the Northwestern football game and special priced tickets will be available for purchase at the Block Party.

Admission to the event is free. In addition, guests may park in Lots 1 and 1A at no cost, which can be accessed from Dodge Avenue between Lake Street and Davis Street. The Block Party is sponsored by Evanston Township High School, the City of Evanston, Northwestern University, and the Evanston/Skokie School District 65.

In alignment with the City of Evanston's updated guidelines for face coverings, community members who are not fully vaccinated should continue to wear a face covering and practice social distancing at outdoor public settings when maintaining a six-foot distance from others is not possible.
