ANN ARBOR, Mich. - No. 7 Northwestern fell to Michigan 5-2 in Ann Arbor on Sunday. The loss snaps the 'Cats eight-game win streak and is their first loss in conference play this season.

Clarissa Hand and Briana Crowley were the story of the day for Northwestern, winning each of their singles matches and combining for a doubles victory.

Hand and Crowley won 6-4 over their opponents on the No. 2 doubles court, but the 'Cats were unable to win a second doubles game.

Clarissa Hand picked up a win over a ranked opponent in the No. 3 spot, defeating #71 Andrea Cerdan in three sets. Brianna Crowley took down #101 Alyvia Jones in two sets.

Northwestern returns to the court on Friday as it welcome Nebraska to the Combe Tennis Center.
