EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 10 Northwestern suffered a 5-2 setback to No. 20 Pepperdine on Sunday afternoon at Combe Tennis Center.
No. 109 ranked Julie Byrne recorded her seventh win of the dual season with a 6-7, 7-5, 1-0 (11-9) victory at No. 3 singles.
Lee Or also grabbed a singles victory for the 'Cats, battling to her fourth singles win of the campaign in three sets.
After a 7-0 defeat of Iowa on Friday, the Wildcats started Sunday's match slow by dropping the doubles point and the first three singles matches, but rebounded to win two of the final three matches.
Chicago's Big Ten team will be back in action on Friday at 5 p.m. as they take on Illinois at the Combe Tennis Center.
