ROCHESTER, MI – Northwestern dominated the pool Friday night against Oakland University winning 28 of 32 events.
The Wildcats started the day off with back-to-back wins in the 200 medley relays. The men's team of Manu Bacarizo, Marcus Mok, Ezra Mizgala and Andrew Zhang swam a season best time of 1:30.84 to out touch their competition.
The 'Cats swept the 1000 free with Ilektra Lebl and Yulia Groysman going 1-2 for the women and DJ Hwang and Ryan King following suit for the men. In a seasons best time of 1:39.61, senior Liam Gately led the 1-3-4 finish in the men's 200 free.
In the 200 breast, Mok out touched his competition by over four seconds for a seasons best finish of 2:01.23 for his third first place finish of the night.
On the diving board, sophomores Yohan Eskrik-Parkinson and Evan Labuda went 1-2 in the 1 meter dive, earning their NCAA Zone qualifier and earning big NU points.
Sophomore Henry Blaul led the 'Cats in a 1-2-4 finish in the 200 IM, touching in a seasons best time of 1:51.72.
The Wildcats closed out the meet with the women's 400 free relay team of Jasmine Hellmer, Maddie Smith, Malorie Han and Calypso Sheridan finishing in a seasons best 3:25.74 to put a stamp on the 'Cats victory.
NU finished the day defeating the Grizzlies 206-93 on the women's side and 200-100 on the men's.
The 'Cats will be back in the pool tomorrow morning as they face off against Michigan State at 11 am in East Lansing.
