Northwestern Wraps up 2018 Season

Before the start of the game, Northwestern honored the careers of seniors Tommy Bordignon, Jack Claeys, Richard Fordon Mat Jones, Connor Lind, JR Reimer and Ryan Vukovich.
The Wildcats finished the season 17-32 overall.
Fordon was the story of the day for Northwestern. The senior came in for relief and tossed a career-long 5.1 innings. The left-hander only surrendered two runs, both unearned, and four hits, while striking out two batters.
Anthony Alepra eanred the start for the 'Cats and tossed an effective 3.2 innings, allowing three runs, while striking out two.
Northwestern collected 10 hits in the contest. Claeys collected a single in his final contest and threw out two would-be base stealers, while Lind collected a double.
Jack Dunn, Willie Bourbon and Casey O'Laughlin each closed out the season with a pair of knocks. Dunn and Bourbon both recorded RBI, and Dunn plated a pair of runs. The shortstop finished the season hitting a team- and career-best .314 with 61 hits, and he also finished the season with 21 stolen bases.
With the game tied at 5-5 in the top of the 11th, Belmont's Matt Cogen hit a two-run, go-ahead home run over the right field fence. Logan Bowen, who pitched the final 1.1 for the Bruins, earned the win.
